Bituminous melt-bonded roll coating is used for installing the lower layers of roofing and waterproofing of building structures. The coating is made by coating a reinforced polyester fiber base on both sides with a binder made of SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) polymer-modified bitumen. The material is covered from below with a protective layer – a polymer film, and from above – with fine-grained sprinkle (quartz sand). (Turkey) The lower layer coating performs a waterproofing function, but does not protect against the effects of sunlight and cannot be used as a finishing (final) layer of roofing.
